People living with HIV are particularly vulnerable to tuberculosis. Not only are they much more likely to get it, they are also much more likely to die of the disease. One out of every four AIDS-related deaths is caused by tuberculosis. Last year, 400 000 people living with HIV died from tuberculosis. But these deaths are preventable: If people living with HIV test for tuberculosis they can get access to care and be cured.
