Vacancy Postdoctoral Fellowship: Single Cell Immunology

28 Oct 2021 - 10:45

The South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative performs cutting edge clinical and immunological research in TB pathogenesis, biomarker development and clinical vaccine development. We have recently embarked on a project that aims to understand TB immunopathology and particularly tissue-specific immune responses in a range of clinical TB phenotypes.

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in single cell immunology. The successful candidate will perform single cell RNA sequencing and mass cytometry assays on samples collected postmortem from humans as part of a multi-center study.

The fellow will be based in Cape Town, but the project may include activity-related travel to collaborating institutes. The successful candidate will contribute to design, development, and performance of laboratory work and computational data analyses. For more information on SATVI, visit

Closing date 30 November 2021.
