30 June 2016 SATVI Labs approved by IQA Cryopreservation Proficiency Testing Advisory Group (ICAG)
The SATVI Field Site laboratory has just received verfication of their proficiency in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cell Cryopreservation (PBMC) isolation and cryopreservation which was assessed by the Immunology Quality Assessment Contract Laboratory (IQA) at the Duke Human Vaccine Institute (HVC).
On Tuesday 28 June Sarah Keinonen, Research Analyst at the Human Vaccine Unit (HVC) of the Duke University, communicated the results after measuring the viability and viable recovery of Peripheral Mononuclear Blood Cells (PBMCs) processed and cryopreserved in the SATVI Field Site laboratory. The report confirms that the SATVI laboratory achieved the necessary standards required for immunological assays from all participating ACTG and IMPAACT network laboratories. This means that SATVI is now eligible to participate in the Immunology Quality Assurance (IQA) Cryo PT Program and most importantly, process study samples for the ACTG and IMPAACT networks.
